Horizon Perspective of View to the North
Make a date today for your family to visit Trail Head Lodge (THL) for a getaway to the mountains for an experience like no other. The lodge boasts two stories, including a completely standalone downstairs “Recreational Retreat”, ensuring more than enough room to spread out and really take in the mountain. The lodge is pet friendly, full of rustic character and features a natural stone fire place and large picture windows on the main floor, opening to an expansive porch and a beautiful mountain vista. With the inclusion of two private rooms on the main floor that share a bathroom, and the downstairs recreational retreat with a separate bath and a semi-private room that adjoins it, 12 people can sleep in comfort. This is the place to unwind from the fast pace of life and either experience the joy of slowing down to mountain time, or taking advantage of the adventures the mountains have to offer.
The THL is a cozy retreat, even though it is a large space that sleeps 12. We opted to call it a “lodge” because it offers something more than the typical mountain rental. Consider it your “Home Away From Home” – it could be a winter-break vacation space with another family and (after a day of winter activities), you put all of the kids downstairs for game night in the basement Recreational Retreat and you enjoy a quiet dinner upstairs. It could also serve as a zero day spot for weary, northbound, through-hikers on their way up the Appalachian Trail who just needed a place to stop, re-provision and rest on their three month trek to Maine. It could be a girls yoga retreat during the summer months when the foliage is lush and green. The point is this . . . THL is your home. You can kick off your shoes at the door, put your feet up on the coffee table and relax. We don’t believe in “stuffy” here . . .in fact we discourage it.
Great experience in a beautiful place.
This was just the kind of experience my friends and I were looking for. Quite secluded with amazing views and quick access to hiking.

While the occasion to visit this property was to bury a loved one; it brought the 10-ten of us from five different states together. The property was the perfect oasis for hanging out, talking, laughing, playing games and soaking in the views. Doug was wonderful with communicating and understanding our needs, and answering questions in real time during the trip. The house was fully furnished with everything needed; fully stocked kitchen, laundry, family gaming area, deck with views and great outdoor furniture. I would definitely return, hopefully under better circumstances, and would highly recommend for your travel and vacation needs.

Our family of 6 had a great time at this property. The location was beautiful and the home was spacious and fit our needs perfectly. My kids were able to ride the ski lift up and walk right to the house when they were done skiing. Doug was a great host and we would love to stay at this property again!

Something unique to the Trail Head Lodge is the on-site InnKeeper support during your stay.
The InnKeeper offers exceptional concierge-like service simply not available in other mountain rentals. We invite you to experience this amenity and immerse yourself in the rest and relation that this magical place has to offer: laundry services, excursion planning (zip lines, horseback riding, picnics, golf, etc.), through hiking services, transportation, meal preparation, all day tea and coffee services . . .
Our Innkeeper maintains a fully separate suite that adjoins the laundry/kitchen/maintenance area to maintain top notch service for your visit. You will LOVE having us host your next trip.
OK, we admit it. We have an animal attraction. Can you blame us? At Trail Head Lodge, we invite you to bring your furry friends (breed restriction/pet fee). There’s more to our pet-friendly policy than just a no-fuss check-in and scratch behind the ear, though. We’ve got all the goodies you need to keep your pet pampered. Plus at our property, our Directors of Pet Relations may be on hand (or paw, as it were) to give you and your fur baby a tail-wagging welcome.
Bliss and Bishop are our owner’s yellow labs, who have the innate ability to lift spirits! They have proven to be the most popular employees, and have a tendency to drool and lie down on the job. It’s true! Our Directors of Pet Relations are our honorary staff of the canine persuasion. They eagerly greet guests upon arrival, quality test our pet amenities, and lord over the nightly games and gatherings.
As with all our employees, they had to undergo a pretty intense screening process for our Directors of Pet Relations. They possess a loving spirit, follow directions well and know when it’s appropriate to engage with a guest and when to give them space. They love the limelight too and will happily pose for your photos on social media.
The most common question about our Director of Pet Relations is, “What do you pay them?” The answer is a generous salary of the most valuable dog currency… Tasty treats and belly rubs, of course!
